Price for Skate Shoes

I do not want my child to get hurt in the shoes that he is wearing but I am wondering what is a good price and a good brand for a particular type of shoe that he wants. My son recently came to me asking if I would buy him a pair of skate shoes. I said I would think about it and when I figured out the price and the different types that were out there I figured I had better figure out what is the nominal price for this type of shoe. There are so many different choices and I did not know what was a good shoe.
