Hiking Impaired

February 16th, 2010

I am, by most standards, a “girly girl”. I love makeup, heels, and all things pink. I assume what sets me apart from other “girly girls” is my love for nature. I absolutely love walking alongside the Hudson River in my home state of New York and hiking through the desert trails in my new home, California. The one thing that I don’t like about hiking is that I never seem to have the proper shoes. I hate sneakers, so I usually wear flip flops to go hiking. Often times, I find myself a little hiking impaired when my flip flop slips off or my toes get cut from being exposed. One day, I was shopping for shoes, when I noticed a pair of discount hiking boots stuffed in the corner behind these adorable yellow wedges I was eyeing. I decided it was time to drop my “girly girl” appearance and I happily bought the boots to further enrich my hiking experiences. However, I do wish the boots had come in pink!
