May 10th, 2011

University Of Texas Football is a time-honored tradition that had its first season in 1893. The University of Texas at Austin football team is known as the Longhorns, or the Horns. Since 1916, the Longhorns’ team mascot has been a Texas longhorn steer who is named Bevo. The Longhorns’ team color is burnt orange like the coloring of their mascot Bevo. Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, which can seat over 10,000 people, is the Longhorns’ home stadium. The University of Texas football team has membership in the Big 12 Conference, South Division. In 1963, 1969, 1970, and 2005, the University of Texas football team won the national championship. The Horns have plenty of notable bowl games like the 2010 BCS Bowl, 2009 Fiesta Bowl, 2007 Alamo Bowl, and 2006 Rose Bowl.
