Outstanding visit to the southern lakes

On our last visit to the south island we toured the central Otago region which is known for producing premium wine and we were certainly not disappointed. Everything we had heard about the area was spot on, the wineries were all magnificent, both with their products and their meals and most of them had fantastic views across the vineyards. There are so many wineries in the region that we ended up staying for three days to get around and visit them all. We were so impressed with the places we went to that we are already organizing a return trip there for next year.
